It was a fun hunt this evening. It was pretty windy so I figured I would have to be within a 100 yards to hear one. I was just slipping around and would call about every 100 yards. I finally made it to the top of the ridge and got setup. I yelped and had one gobble immediately. I figured he was around 100 yards off the side of the hill. I waited about 5 minutes and yelped again softly. He gobbles again and I figured him to be around 60 yards. I go quit and just wait. I can hear him spitting and drumming so I knew he was getting close. He popped up at 40 yards and the rest is history. Thank you Lord for another great bird and hunt. Now I will be calling for other people.
