9pt shot 2nd week of muzzleloader chasing a doe and shot the 8pt week later on the opening of gun. Was working a grunt call and both bucks responded..best of all, both bucks dropped in there tracks ...my best season by far.******steve...yea man 308 american perfect fit for the terrain*mtn creek bottoms,steep hills, and thick cover from select cut bout 12 year ago...it's mountain hunting at its best.. you know what im sayin!! Holler at me and Maybe check it out...!took me six long hard hunt years to finally bag the 9pt..had a shot at his daddy in 2010 my cap popped but powder didn't light..got dad on camera in 2011 along with couple more biggins)..he was a 10 with claws on both sides...I doubt he's still around but I was blessed to take one of his offspring...pics don't do this thing justice..he was the fattest dear (lil over 1. of fat on this pigs hide) weighed well over 200-225...anyways gotta say thankyou to God, wife and 3 kiddos for ther patience ..and few others).. anyways I was hunting family land van burean county.. shooting 308 rem core lokt 165 gr..grouped perfect in my ruger and hits hard!! Thanks to all the congrats I appreciate it..been long time follower on tndeer..learned alot and great place with good people! :smash:
