I wish the end of the video was a little better but I still got to film this bird for the 3 days that I hunted him. He's about the most average longbeard you could kill but he liked to gobble and he wanted to die...

You are my hero being able to get the hunts on video.

BTW, I don' know how close you looked at it, but on the miss there is a limb sticking up from that fallen log that you shoot in two. Where it breaks looks to be about even with his ear, so you definitely shot high and then the limb demolished your pattern.

How far was the shot when you got him? On the video it looks like you shot through some thick stuff there as well.

on a side note, I hope the camera angles are different then your gun angles cause both of those shots are in some thick stuff and the first one was just a plan bad shot choice though a circle in a log with only the head and part of the neck showing at all not to mention deadfall limbs hanging all around it. cant tell a ton on the last one but man it looked thick and far. That may explain parts of the missing over the years as not so much shooting form as much as shot selection. That part is much easier to correct.
 
Always loved your videos catman. One this I've always noticed is you set yourself up to shoot threw an awful lot of crap. That's breaking your pattern up terribly and will account for several of your missed turkeys. Keep em coming I watch every one.

yes it is camera angle, that makes a big difference in what you see vs what I saw. The shot I missed was through some buck brush, but I could see his whole head and neck. At 20 yards the brush shouldn't have been a problem which is why I shot. I was shooting with a bead.
The second shot I stood up half way to shoot over the thick stuff, but obviously the camera didn't stand up with me.

I have let turkeys walk because of the thick crap I set up in, but when I take a shot it's always through some kind of small window that you can't see because the camera is 2 feet to the right of my face.
