Killed #2 this morning. Got to the stand about 7:00 right after the rain quit. Had a doe show up about five minutes in and she didn't feel like coming in to the dinner bell. Of coarse the rain kicked up for a 30 min shower and I got mildly wet even with the rain suit. The wind picked up and I left about 9 to change out wet clothes and scout a new area. Spent some time walking the property line , and about back to the truck I jump a small Buck. I immediately crouch down and start scanning and notice 6 or 7 deer on the ridge, stomping and blowing. A big lead doe decides to come back down the ridge. She got within 30 yards and finally accepted me and made one wrong move from behind a tree, I only had just a small window but was confident I could hit my mark. She ran about 75yds and piled up. First Archery deer from the ground and a great wet morning! Now bring the rut!
