Went out in the wind Sunday. It was the most vocal the birds have been all year. Set up in the spot I took cat to last week and the birds all flew down to private well sunday was no different. After a little bit I got up and did a little running and gunning. I ended up running about 6 deer I circled around and ended up at the truck. So I took a little break before walking back in. When I got to the back field I saw 3 birds 1 was in strut so I sat down and called a couple of times and they made there way to me the were all jakes the first one didn't like something and walked away the 1 strutted to his death at 33yds the last bird kept coming he came in so close I swear I could have hit him on the noggin with my gun he got so close I finally stood up he ran back to the other bird and stayed. The whole time I was texting catman trying to get him there the bird flew off to the woods when catman got there we walked over to where the bird had flown and he busted us.
