Love that you have bucks in red and grey, seen 2 together at 1/2 mile on our lease 1 time in a clear cut, 1 looked solid red and stuck out and only seen the grey 1 using binoculars. when they aren't moving it's tough to see them at times. You would be surprised at the folks who never see the different phases.

With their perfect countershading in winter coat (dark back and white belly to compensate for sunlight on the back and belly shaded), it's amazing how easily deer just disappear into the background if they're not moving. I can't tell you how many times I've been look right at a deer far off through the woods, but when they stop moving for a minute or two, they just vanish. Suddenly I'm searching to reacquire them in my vision, and it isn't until they move that I realize I'm still looking right at them but couldn't pick them out.
