Yep they hit anything that could be food. Did you keep it and try to eat it? I tried one last week for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Also you could get the "lucky fish rocks" out of it...the otoliths.

Yeah,caught one on Center Hill the other day on a swim bait,for a few seconds I thought,maybe.But then reality set it,just set down and held on,wanted my bait back!

Yep, caught this one on a crankbait at Center Hill last year. For about 1.2 seconds, I thought big brown fish, but then quickly realized that it was not. Took a few minutes to get in as it was definitely mean.

 
yeah they'll take a live 6 inch stone roller when I'm wading for big smallmouths and you think you got a whopper smallmouth than you see silver... :cry: They do fight good though...

I caught this dude on a black and blue hair jig night fishing on Dale Hollow a couple summers ago. I knew it wasn't a smallie about 2 seconds after I set the hook.
