I have a 1955 alumacraft model k boat that I inherited from my Grandpa. We wore that boat out when I would spend my summers in Alabama my younger years.
I recently pulled this boat from his old place and started to clean it up. During this I found several holes in the aluminum. I started filling these holes with those low temp brazing rods. However I have some larger golf ball sized holes. I'm not sure how to fix these. I've tried brazing but they are just too big.
The aluminum is very thin. So brazing them I'm seeing the aluminum warp a little.
Do you think this is worth taking to someone who can weld it? Not only patch up the holes but maybe strength up the underside of the bow of the boat.
