Ok, a guy I work with has a 1912 parker shotgun. In very good condition. Original leather case that came with it. and he is wanting to sell it. He said he took it to a local gun show and they offered him $5000 for it, cash in hand, on the spot. He didnt sell it, he said he thought it was worth more than that. I know its hard to judge something like this without seeing it, but what would the approx. value be for a gun like this?

Don't know a whole about the Parkers but..
It would depend on the Model Ga and Cond. or in other words it could be worth alot more or he may have got a good offer.

be very warry..... no offence intended but there can be huge variances in prices for old guns... Condition and originality are all important.

The majority of Parker that would never sell for anything near that amount of money... However, there are some that would... make sure to take it to someone who knows Parkers before shellingout that type of money.... or at a miminum do alot of research on the gun.

Thanks for the info. If I was interested in buying the gun, I would do more homework on it for sure. No way I will shell out that kind of money for a gun  . I was just curious about the price. Just couldn't believe the gun would go for what he said.

cant tell you without some more info, need the model, guage and grade. blue book range for parker brothers shotguns is 3500 to 192,000.(no typo, one hundred and ninety two thousand!)

The $192,000 is for the Parker Invincible. Only one was ever made. I read a story about it a few years ago. Feller found it at an estate auction in the closet. He gave $200 bucks for it...
