1911 upgrades?

I recently traded for a regent r100 1911. I'm wanting to put a beavertail and some other things on it. Does anyone have experience with a regent I'm trying to find a drop in beavertail. What's your recommendations? What are must have upgrades to a base 1911 government model?

Put some rounds through it first. After you've gotten comfortable with it, you will know what you want to upgrade.

I shot it some the other day and I know I have to get a beavertail safety. I got hammer bite pretty much every shot it doesn't hurt just annoying. Wilson combat makes a "drop in" beavertail and was wondering how the fit was on one. Some of the "drop ins" have huge gaps between the safety and the frame and I want one that looks like it belongs on the gun. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
