Would two 50 grain 777 pellets give you enough energy with a 250 grain bullet to put a whopping on a deer at 165 yards?

I have an encore that will shoot 150 grains but I just have no desire to take that kind of stomping behind the gun.

Never shot much past 100 yards with one but it could play out where the only shot will be that far.

If I am reading my Barns book right. You will have little over 1600 V at muzzle and about 1184 at 150 yrds. and 778 ft-lb energy at 150 so yes that will do. You may get a little different from some other charts but this get you in the ball park.

Thanks man.

Gonna have to do some shooting and see what different point of impact we have at around 30 and 100 yards with a zero of 165.

Hmmm, that isn't near as much as I figured it would be.

I will let you know what I find with my rifle later this week. :D

Yea let us know. I had to do some guessing on data. I have used ISnape for center fire where I had all the data and it would come out close. I agree that don't sound like much.

I have made shots out to 165 with 2 pellets of pyrodex and a 295 powerbelt. I sight all of mine in for 150 both the 45 and 50 cals. I shot a buck through the heart at 150 and a doe through the lungs at 165 both went less than 30 yards.
