Yep... You read it right. I caught a 15 pound... Mushroom anchor today with a crank bait. Heck of a fight until I got the 30 foot rope up where I could land her. Thought i Had a monster! Seems some one didn't realize they could not reach the bottom with the rope. Luckily the water was just low enough for me to land her today.

Nice fish I just got a kick of all the endorsements seemed like a Nascar driver caught it. Fishing this type lure with this type line on this type rod with this type reel wearing this type of sunglasses.

No pics. Would have been funny to get on video. I tell you, when I hooked the rope it was a heck of a fight to get it up and towards the boat. I saw a rope earlier in the day and didn't pull it up. Kinda wish I had no since it may have been another anchor!

I had been looking at anchors for when I fish the river this spring so it was a WIN for me since it saved me some money. I haven't looked at it closely but I believe the rope is still in good shape... didn't appear to be down there long. With the way they have dropped Douglas for the winter, I imagine some one didn't have enough line to reach the bottom when they let it out. It was in about 30 feet of water and that normally would be 70 feet in the summer. The rope had a loop tied in the end so it didn't break off.

If you fish deep enough near the Sevier Co end of the Big Island you might be able to catch the houseboat hull that swamped my boat and flipped a TVA patrol boat. Its 38 feet long.

LOl I caught one of those at Ledvalle last year. Not a keeper so I released it.

We lost a lawn mower wheel weight anchor this summer. Somebody had a battle if they hooked it. 30lber.

One night about 15 years ago a houseboat caught on fire. TVA tried to help me pull the 38 foot steel hull off the water that night. We pulled it about 100 yards and suddenly both boats were going backwards. Weird feeling being full throttle in a 150 and going backwards. Water came over the transome on my boat and swamped me. Luckily the rope broke. TVA's patrol boat had a longer rope but flipped. Blue strobe lights are sure pretty underwater. Luckily my radio still worked underwater and I contacted Rescue Squad and another officer that was at the ramp near Cowboys. I told the TVA Major that it was an elaborate plot to disrupt their boating enforcement program.

Dang... How deep was the water it went down in? I guess you're saying it's still there?

I would like to ride over that with my down scan and see what it looks like. You got any idea how to tell me where it is?

Thanks
