I killed this buck friday morning for the opener of IL gun season. I was hoping a friend was going to be able to shoot this deer earlier in the year but he never crossed paths with him. He's an older buck that just didn't really put much on from last year antler wise. He had all of his rack and was in good health when I seen him a couple times while bow hunting earlier this year but friday's encounter was a different story. He's rack was busted up good but more importantly he was struggling bad to move around. Severe limp that I believe is the result of a car collision. I quickly decided it was the best thing to do so I shot him at 35 yards. He went about 25-30 yards and died in sight. That tags me out in two states now. I still have one TN statewide tag and one TN bonus buck tag so maybe this incredible year will continue. 4 down with potential 2 more to go... though I wouldn't bet on it.
