10-10-10.....

I decided to try a straw bale garden this year and after the process I finally planted about two weeks ago. I side dressed everything today with 10-10-10 placed about 3"-4" from the plants, I used about 1-1.5tsp per plant. Was this ok to do at this point and how much fertilize should be used? I grew up helping my grandfather in the garden but I don't have much experience on my own. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

cant say about the measurement of fertilizer i put a good hand full of triple 13 around each of my plants unless its corn or taters and stuff thats close together then i just take a handfull at a time and spread it down the row a few inches away from the plants. i fertilize maters a couple days after i set them out and then again when the start blooming good. and i fertilize everything else when a good stand of it comes up and gets a little size to it.
