it is my understanding that the CZ may actually be closer to an 8 twist than a 9,which may account for why people look at me funny when I tell them I am shooting the 80 Berger out of a nine twist 223.

I was wondering how you were shooting the 80gr VLDs. I have a Stevens 200 .223 with a 1/9 twist barrel and I couldn't get the 75 AMAX to hold a group at 100 yards. I tried Benchmark, Varget and RL-15 and got nada.
First thing I look at now is barrel twist. My CZ 550 in .243 _will not_ stabilize a 100gr Core-Lokt. It has a 1/10 twist and I have tried several powders. It does however love Sierra 85 gr HPBTs.
