I'm fixin to leave the wonderful land of WiFi so I'll post this real quick before I go into no signal world.

Got #1 opening day around 9:30 am, posted a video on that before I took the boat and hit the road.

#2 yesterday around 8:30, hot bird wanted to die came in quick.

#3 around 6:30 this morning, hen was in tree talking back to me, gobbles all around me in the distance, suddenly a loud gobble down the ridge and coming in quick. Red head popped up at 5 yards, I shot and a Jake took off flying, and another Jake went flopping down the hill. If you heard him gobble you'd swear he was a big gobbler.

I have to be back at work tomorrow morning and hate to leave the lake. But maybe I'll be back sometime.

you're gonna hate me when I paint that gun lol. I like the tally marks but I haven't added any of my own.

Congrats on the kills but did you shoot that Jake not knowing if it had a beard or not?

I shot it knowing it was a male bird with a 99.9% chance of having a beard. Knew it was a risk of being a Jake not seeing the beard but also was pretty convinced it was a tom by the sound of his gobble and size of his head.

I think you hit on what he was saying. The regulations are bearded turkeys not male turkeys.

and what percent of male turkeys in the spring have no beard? I'll take my chances... if I do somehow manage to kill a non bearded gobbler, I will call TWRA. It is my call to make.
