First fish of the year... Cherokee Lake smallmouth on a silver buddy.

Congrats man !

I didn't have any gloves and only made it about an hour this morning. Didn't catch anything. :(

I've got all kinds of gloves but can't fish in them. I'll throw a spinning reel to keep the water off my fingers until it's above freezing. When I pulled up at the lake this morning it was 20 degrees. We had about 30 minutes of sun all day I guess. When I left it was 37 degrees... at 3:00. Needless to say we didn't make any high speed runs.

I hate fishing in them too and usually just put them on when I need to warm the digits up. :D

Best way I have found is to have a few hothands and keep them in the pocket of my hoodie and just hold it a few seconds after every few casts.
