Or whatever you all call them šŸ˜†

Tn-Joe hates me so I broke down and took my daughter after some trash fish. First time I've ever managed to get a 2 man limit. It was slow but managed our 10 fish between 2pm-5pm

Fried taters and onions, roasted asparagus and tomatoes, lemon butter dog turds with a creamy garlic sauce

are those raw dog turds? the ones i ate were grilled with head on. the skin looked shriveled and the meat was an appetizing grey color.

the asparagus and potatoes look real good.
No, slathered in lemon, butter, salt, pepper, then foiled and baked. Wife and kids draw the line at "no heads" lol, so I cut them off. Prefer the texture of skillet fried but tried this and it was great.

In a river hopefully!
Try this on those dog turdsā€¦.
My buddy here in Beaufort came up with this recipe for trout

You can substitute Jalapeno jelly if you like more heatā€¦ā€¦

Congrats on a good time BTW that will remain with both of you for a lifetime.

Nothing wrong with stocked trout, at least with them you know they weren't raised with a chicken farm feeding them like Tilapia, I have a couple 17-18" in the freezer I need to fix soon, I suspect they been in the river for a few years. Lot of fun catching them on any kind of a rod, wading and a fly rod a lot back in my 20-30's , nerve damage makes feeling rocks with my feet difficult so I only wade in the pool now lol. I can't fault folks who at least shop somewhere besides Walmart.

When I first moved here I tried eating them, but they just ain't no count. If I had to I would, but would rather not. They are a beautiful fish, and I enjoy catching them on a custom 8ft spinning rod I had built. I keep some for Rockfish bait in the summer, and throw back the rest. I've caught a few really good fish over the years, both Rainbows and Browns, up to 6lbs. Hell of a fight.

You all have some weird taste in foods! Darn hard to find a fish better tasting than a fresh rainbow trout. And before you retort, ask yourself if you think crappie taste good. If you do, you have no sense of taste! They're bland mush. Now a bluegill or sunfish? THAT's good eating!

I agree but stocker trout and wild trout are 180 degree opposite.
