Squirrels aren't running around at 11:30 at night, especially on the ground. So, what is your guess? House cat (kitten)? Groundhog?

I was in my back yard recently and saw a flash of black and white rings shoot up a tree. I honestly thought someone's pet ring tailed lemur had escaped. (still possible I suppose) It was then that I learned of the Miner's cat or ringtailed cat that is native to the desert southwest and Texas. With the introduction of alligators to west Tennessee and armadillos over the past 10 years who knows? Could be anything. Keep trying to narrow it down.

Cat. Get rid of it someway...quietly Feral and tame cats kill thousands of birds and small game each year. I have a stray cat that I think is responsible for the squirrel population going down. Used to see as many as seven around a bird feeder. Now we are lucky to see two or three. We live in a subdivision so there isn't any hunting.
