Had an absolutely great day with my buddy Orbin Lane. AKA Dog. He is the father to my ex boss lady Sarah and a few years ago I drove his trans am race car in Crossville. It was an interesting day for sure with 4 blue cats (1 was a tarp blue)….we don't catch blues we catch flatheads.

As the day went on the sun came out it got hot so did the fishing. I was proud to watch Dog catch his best fish ever a true TN trophy flathead 28.3 lbs at 40 " long . When the fish landed in the boat I am not sure who was wore out more. When we got back to the ramp I loaded the boat on the trailer. Dog was pulling up the ramp and an aluminum jon boat with 2 fellas came in hot.... right in the side of my boat as he pulled mine up the ramp it threw one dude almost out.
The ole triton is a tough boat ... not a scratch.
It is funny I always said for years I want to be like @rsimms Richard Simms When I grow up. It is work for sure but it is fun to see how people react to catching a big fish and making their day. This is really only year 2 of catching the bigger cats and I certainly need a lot more experience before ever charging some one money and of course all the legal stuff. I just have more fun watching people catch them than I would if it was me.

Total today 10 cats @ 138.4 lbs

Orbin Lane 4@ 61.2

28.3

Lade 6 @ 77.2 ….. side note Dog did reel in one of my 10.8 blues lol
