A couple months ago I saw this steak and couldn't pass it up.
3.5 pounds
I had to buy it for my best friend just to see how much of it he could eat.
His mom got real sick shortly after and this weekend was the first chance he has had to come over.
I failed to get any pics of the inside after cooking but it turned out just about as good as I could do it.
The picture makes it look burnt but it wasn't nearly as dark as the picture appears to be.
Nice and red all the way through and was actually really tender.
He didn't eat it all either. LOL
Two 8 ounce fillets for reference. :D

That looks really good, Ruger! Those tomahawks always seem to flare up on me when I'm not looking. Usually find them on good sales though

One side was pretty charred, I think the fire was a little too hot when I put it on.
I just threw it on the fire, closed the lid and left it for 9 minutes.
Flipped it over and repeated.

What am I missing here, nine minutes a side?
Are you saying that was too long?
The steak was right at 3" thick and it took that long for it to get to a doneness level that my buddy would like.
It turned out about right, med rare except for the outside edges.

A typical ribeye that I cook, 1 1/2" thick I usually do 4 per side.
