Caught this bad boy on my trail cam. He brought his harem with him. The exciting thing is this is the first time I've seen this many turkeys in my holler since moving here in 2014. I'd occasionally see a couple of hens walking around - once saw a gobbler in the front by the road but otherwise nothing. So this is a first and hopefully the harbinger of more birds moving in here. This part of the county used to be full of them then suddenly they disappeared. No one knows why. Other parts near Pulaski have plenty but with the fields and farms here I'd have thought we'd be eaten up with them. Not so. I'm not gonna hunt any here - I love turkey hunting but thats killing the hen laying the golden egg if I do.
