Anyone know why a deer would have an ear tag? My brother in law got a picture of one this morning with an ear tag. It was an 8 point so no confusion of it being a farm animal. It had the number 19 in it I believe. I assume it is for research but don’t know who would be doing the research.

If they was worried about selling they would post them so everyone would know. But they don’t do that.
