I no longer use them because they're too hot for me but I had a Tactical Tat'r with kickstand that was good. Set up anywhere and have something to lean against was nice. Also been seeing ads for TideWe so check them out too.
There is no such thing as a perfect turkey vest. But most would say that a comfortable, easy to deploy seat is highly desired.
Some vests are built for more pot calls, others for box calls. Pick one that best suits what you're going to hunt with.
Unless you hunt private and/or have short walks, the vests with stands in them are far too heavy for most.
I would suggest reverse engineering your decision. Determine which features are a must, then find a vest that provides those for you.

They seem to change yearly as of lately. I have a Nomad that's a few years old I like.
Echo above. Vests are all about what features you are looking for. Some have more pockets for stuff, some have bigger and better seats for long sits. Some have frames for ability to sit without a tree and some are more light and minimal for more movement just have to decide what your are looking for in one.
I've tried a bunch of them and the Sitka one is the best I found for what I want in a vest but that may not be what your looking for

I have been wearing and Ol' tom for years. Drakes version of turkey vest. It's been a good one. Lot of pockets, maybe too many. Not a bad price either. 2 cents.
Grounded Outdoors has one too that's interesting.
I'm hunting in a Tactical Tat'r that I've had for years, but I'm thinking about dropping the vest since I don't carry very much.

I get to demo some of the vest coming out of the "west" here. I liked the Sitka fest because it has everything I needed and was light weight aka great for run and gun that is "more" typical style of hunting in the open mountains. First Light's vest operates pretty similar. What most often annoys me about fest is where the box call goes... Always where I am bumping it.
If I'm going for a long sit or know I dont plan to move too much I run the standard Cabela's or Alps vest with the kickstands to lean back and nap with.
Though when I go to a know run and gun mode I just run a chest rig because the box call on the bottom center of mass where I'm not bumping it...

If you're a minimalist who runs and guns in the hills and hollers, Spring Legion came out with one this year that weighs 2.5LB's dry weight. Enough storage for the essentials and a handful of molle attachments. Seat is thin for those of you who like a thicker pad, but I don't care much about a seat so it works fine. Rides high and open to the front with just two buckles so it doesn't bunch up too hard around you like some other vests do. Back of the vest has enough room to haul a bird out of the mtn if needed. Carry's an Avian hen decoy just fine. Could stand to have an inside mesh zipper or two and a better water bottle pouch on the side but other than that it fits the needs.

later season dates mean warmer weather. i want one made from mesh for better air flow. do they exist, or do i have to make my own ?
I ditched vests because they're too hot. If a mesh one exists I've never seen it.

i killed a big tom way off of the road at Choccolocco years ago before i had a vest. by the time i got back to the jeep, i was wishing i had missed the shot... i don't want to be one of those guys that breasts a bird & cuts its beard off because i don't want to haul it out... i eat it all, and use wing feathers making arrows.
Get a turkey tote. There are all kinds of them but a leather one with a wider strap across your shoulder is probably best. I recently bought 2 different ones (1 is paracord and 1 leather). This link is an example of a leather one but not the one I have. Mine is just the leather strap without the padded shoulder part. I only use a fanny pack to stay light and needed something that will roll up and not take much room. Kinda wishing I'd have gotten one with the wider part for over the shoulder.

I haven't bought one in years my vest in 10 plus years old probably closer to 15. But the tactical tatr 2 is the best vest ive used for the money i paid for it. Ive tried some ol Tom's, some mossy oak vest and a few others and always go back to it. If I was purely worried about weight then I wouldn't wear a vest period. Bring a couple mouth calls and be done with it. It seems vest are trying to be minimalist and crazy light weight like deer hunting. But the thing is most turkey killers only need one maybe 2 calls so just take the vest out of it if that's the case. When saddle hunting deer you have to bring equipment in, you dont have to with turkeys. I grew up without a vest it was a luxury when I got my first one.

I dont really need a vest, but I really do need a soft padded seat as I have gotten older.
I must say, sitting in the soaking wet leaves yet having my butt dry is quite nice.

Thanks for all of the replies. I went with a grounded hybrid pack. It has a bino harness with call pouch in the front with a game bag and seat with magnet attachment in the back. i can swap out the straps and run just the bino harness if I so choose. A hydration bladder can be added if needed.

I made a big investment in a Sitka turkey vest. Had used several others. It's very light weight, carries what I need. I just added a little more back pad & attached a butt cushion. It's comfortable enough to sit still for long periods but light enough to move quickly when needed to get on a bird.
Little secret with the Sitka vest. If you get a water bladder to put in the back slot (there is a designed spot for it) then you have a duel purpose option. The bladder acts as a back pad (like a water bed lol) and you have easy accessible water during the hunt :)

The tiny turkey tote that came with it is the bomb. Weighs nothing, folds down to nothing, but a lifesaver if you kill a bird far in.
Too hot and muggy in MS to wear a vest today, im going bare bones... been on a bird for 2 hours and counting, my back and butt are killing me without my seat.
