Let see'um.
I'm going full Tim Wells, no sights and fingers with my little namesake Iglow compound and decapitator broadheads. Got 5 ground blinds built and saw gobblers on the camera already, just gotta wait.

I see the old springy rest you have on your bow. I have one that I've played with a few times, it's not made the A Team yet. Btw, I shoot fingers as well, although with compound I use a flipper rest and pins. Ole Tim is the best I've seen bare bow! Good luck dude!!

Yes, he's a phenomenal shot with a bow, have you seen the clip of him sheep hunting in some country, he takes a steep downhill shot then gets an arrow on the string and nails the sheep again running at 108 yds, unreal. He was in Spain or somewhere.

Yes! That one I think was a chamois, the mule deer at about the same distance is unreal.
I have noticed he shoots flu flu feathers on his guillitine arrows. I'm wondering if 4, 4" helical fletches will stabilize enough. I've recovered the 2 gobblers I've bow shot. Both times I broke their back the only one I lost was a hen in the fall and I chest shot her. I took my eye off her and couldn't find her. I made a ground blind today out of cedar limbs for a kid and maybe me with a bow. I might try to harpoon one this year too.

I've been lucky and haven't lost one, all 4 were either back broken or base of neck with coc 2 blade broadheads , I used these big heads but haven't got one with them yet. I figure it's either a kill or a miss with them shooting at the neck/ head. On Wells, he shot a big whitetail too at like 100 yds and nails him. I shoot out to long range with judo points and with practice I can get close or hit stuff but thats shooting at leaves on the ground etc., I'd never shoot at an animal like that but it is fun.

I've always told myself I want to try and kill one on the ground with a bow and no blind, but I can't ever make myself put the gun down. I struggle enough as is with a gun.

I don't know if it's as hard as everybody makes it out to be, shoot! if I can anybody can.
Of the 4, 1 was a hen from a treestand back in the old fall seasons, 1 was from a blind and the other 2 I got a cedar tree on them when they were strutting and alone, just eased up on them, drew the bow and eased out when he was looking the other way on 1 and let the other one walk out infront of the bow on the other.

it is for me, lol! i've missed 13 or 14 now. seems to be a lot of space around turkeys that an arrow can pass through that have nothing to do with the turkey in question. i'm starting to wonder if some of them are ALL feathers...
😂 let's don't talk about the misses! I've missed a bunch but that's just a minor detail not worth mentioning!

Woodarrow, If by chance I can get one with the wheel bow I'm gonna try again with my longbow, or maybe just use it. I've missed 2 with it, never got one so it's a box that needs checking. Back in the early 2000s during the fall season I had a buncha hens that would take the same woods road like clockwork so I built a screen right beside the road with the hopes of shooting one in the back when they walked by. One morning I'm behind the screen and here they come right on time, I'm kneeling with the string on my fingers and they are within 3' of me walking by, I could still hear ok back then and they were making all kinda of little noises. So they are marching by in a line, about 8 or 10 of them, and as the first one clears the screen it stops and they all stop, she then takes 2 steps my way and sticks her head around to where she could see behind the screen where I was crouching.....It was like you threw a stick of dynamite in the middle of them! There was turkeys in the air in every direction!!! 😂 Needless to say they didn't use that road for a while!
