Publix $9.99/lb standing rib roast

They have $9.99/lb rib roasts on sale again.

What??? They didn't have any yesterday. Tried Kroger today asking about them and they were $11.99 /lb. They said they'll learn the new prices on Sunday 12/21. Was going to go back Monday. Last year I got a whole 23 lb roast at $6.99 / lb. I'll keep checking. Thanks

Kroger has advertised 8.99/lb for standing rib roast (if you clip the digital coupon).

We don't have a Kroger in my town in MS, so I always buy one up there and bring back for my Christmas prime rib.

Personally, I do a small prime rib the day before Christmas Eve. We also have "Prime rib weekend" opening of muzzleloader, and usually another at some point throughout the year

We don't have a Kroger in my town in MS, so I always buy one up there and bring back for my Christmas prime rib.

i bought a few of the kroger ones and cut them into rib eyes.

Prime rib. It is our traditional Christmas meal.

I dry brine mine with salt, pepper, garlic, then in the fridge for 2-3 days

Smoke on the egg at 225 for around 4-5 hours (internal temp to 110)

Pull, then in the oven at 500 for 5-10min for the crust

Rest for 30-45m, int temp usually peaks at 120 during resting.

I check the FL close to us they had 2 about 4lb each - but the roast had alot of fat. Im going to check again. Im going to have my son check the publix in JC.

Picked up 2 at Kroger today. I got pretty lucky and found 2 that were high end choice/ near prime.

All the others were low end choice/ select.

Original price 19.99/lb; sale is 11.99/lb but if you have the Kroger app it's down to 8.99/lb.

Based on the amount of fat, I feel the ones I bought at Publix for 9.99/lb were a better deal.

Bought 20Lbs yesterday and you were allowed 2 which it took 2 to hit 20lbs, phone beeped awhile ago and Kroger's showed the roast coupon and said use again, took a screen shot of it sent to wife, 3 years ago brisket was on sale for $1.99 she just kept bringing them home ended up with 8 of them ,they have only had 1 more sale on the briskets since.
