And shooting a suppressed 22 is as much fun as you can have with your pants on……
same as above, also really reduces the blast concussion from the gun which you dont realize how much of an impact that is until you shoot suppressed.
Ive had suppressors for a few years now (rifle only) and Im not kidding when I say I wont shoot unsuppressed anymore unless I absolutely have no other choice.
It just makes shooting so much more fun AND if you are recoil sensitive it opens up some bigger calibers you previously may not have wanted for fool with. A lot of them can reduce recoil in the 30-45% range.

I won one, and now after finally shooting with one I am really thinking I want another.
Haven't really noticed recoil difference but I haven't shot really hard recoiling rifles with it yet. I can shoot without hearing protection. I plan to try mine on my 45-70 after I recover enough from this shoulder surgery. I waiting for alignment rod for the 45 caliber and it finally came in, but I am not shooting any time real soon.

In addition to the above, it will often confuse hogs so you can shoot more 
Great for introducing new shooters . Without recoil and most noise gone there is less flinch that builds bad habits .
I have a 300 PRC and 28 Nosler you can shoot with and without the suppressor if you'd like to.
There are really no cons IMO.
The NFA process is silly but it has never been faster/easier w the advent of the silencer shop kiosk.
The 200$ stamp is a minimal fee imo to have a lifetime of benefit from the suppressor.
Should there be a tax and process, no. Even countries like SA and NZ sell them off the shelf. But so be it. It's worth it to me.
Once you shoot suppressed, you will not want to go back.

$1000 suppressor would be $100 if they were removed from NFA. I refuse to pay the government $200. If they want registration while they are censored/tracked/controlled by NFA; it should be free or a minimal fee. Like maybe $10.
I have to pay the government to exercise 2nd amendment right to carry. But I don't have to for a suppressor. I have muffs and a bag full of ear plugs. I will not use suppressors until they are removed from government theft and free trade determines their price.
I know this opinion obviously isn't popular with the suppressor guys, but I think it's the reason most gun owners don't jump into this.

And from what I've been reading...Silencer Central has been lobbying the govt to keep them ON the NFA list!!

Interesting.
I'm not a fan of giving Sam money. However $200 is a very very very small drop in the bucket compared to to other checks I've written to Sam.
At least I'm getting something I want and not paying for someone else's train wreck of life choices.

I have a 7mm Rem Mag and a 300 Win Mag. With a decibel phone app, I measured both of them to be less than my unsuppressed 22 Win Mag. IMO, recoil from the suppressed magnums was about the same as the unsuppressed 22 WM.
The suppressor is a Banish 30 from Silencer Central. Really like shooting it. One thing about it, keep it clean. Once it gets dirty, it's almost impossible to get it separated. Some cans have tools to separate them but this one doesn't. It has a baffle removal tool, but the issue I had was unscrewing it to get to the baffles. A little Never Seize on the threads helps.
To the OP, cost is a downside. Also, when I bought mine in 2022, it took 10 months for approval. I think that is much quicker now.

Ok, I read the article in the link. Silencer Central's business model is to ship directly to the customer. According to the article, if cans are removed from the NFA, they are likely reclassified under the GCA of 1968, which eliminates shipment directly to customers. Hence SC's business model doesn't work. I get that as a company, SC wants to protect their business model.
So, the question, what else changes if cans are removed from NFA and reclassified under GCA? What is the downside?

….that being said…cost is why I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Kinda like why I don't own a boat….I know guys who have them. Necessary? No (IMO)

I thinks it's officially the "suppressor year"
I was about to buy a couple more, but I'm waiting to see if this removal from the NFA stays in the final bill first.

I'd say most of us will buy several of these changes are ever implemented.
I know I could use at least 2 more of them. Gunsmiths would be threading a ton of barrels also.
I was laughing this morning telling someone that my gunsmith will make a fortune threading barrels for me.
