What do we need to hope for in any game that will help Tennessee?

What do we need to hope for in any game that will eliminate alabama?

Same answer for both questions. We need Clemson to win. If Clemson wins, Bama is probably eliminated and we potentially end up with a homefield game, assuming that aspect isn't as rigged as it appears to be.

I think SMU playing a close good game, but falling just short against Clemson is the only way bama May not make it.

Not sure Tennessee is going to get much help from the championship games. Maybe if UGA gets beat down by a couple scores, to pick up a 3ed loss they fall behind Tennessee? But not even sure about that. I don't think Texas falls past 6 or 7 picking up a 2nd loss in the SEC chip game.

Clemson winning should boot the gumps. They said championship games shouldn't penalize you so Dabo should get in and Smu too. Blow outs in other games could help the Vols but this committee seams determined to include the red algea.

I'm not saying they would boot UGA. I'm saying they could drop them below Tennessee. Obviously head to head doesn't matter.

How would a Clemson win affect Tennessee's position as far as getting a home game? I think it is down to one team currently ahead of UT needs to drop behind them.



On a slightly different subject, about movement of teams in championship games:

The CFP chair clarified in the following that the teams in the championship games will get evaluated and can move. The teams that are not playing have no new data points and they will remain the same relative to other teams that are not playing. (e.g. Penn State could lose and drop behind OSU and UT; OSU would remain ahead of UT but that should put UT in as a home team.)

I agree with that. You should never be punished for losing a championship game when nobody else played.

Clemson to win by a FG. Oregon to win by 35. Texas to win by 21. I really think Oregon donkey stomping PSU is our only hope.

I do think a close Clemson win may boot Bama. I say that because the pollsters have already said that SMU is better than Alabama in the latest poll. A conference championship loss shouldn't hurt them. That being said, Alabama is Alabama and the committee is made up of humans, and they know who Alabama is. They will place Alabama in the playoffs because of legacy…and it's not the first time that has happened, nor will it be the last.

No one is scared of bama. The way the bracket currently sets Tennessee & Bama would both have to win multiple games before they see each other anyways which is unlikely.

It's because bama don't deserve to be their. They just got beat down by a 5 win team two weeks ago...THEY LOST TO VANDY! They have more L's than anyone in the bracket. If anyone else lost 3 games in the SEC to mutiple teams with 500 records they would be on the outside looking in. Ask Ole miss and South Carolina...... South Carolina won 6 straight games was the hottest team in the SEC, and got completely screwed out of the LSU game. Yet They barely crack the top 15......
