I said that the game on UGA's schedule that concerned me the most was UT. Now it looks like the oddsmakers agree. Still early, and every year has a new team, so never can tell how things will change between now and then.

Well, it really wasn't that hard was it, with that schedule?

Auburn and FL rebuilding really makes it a pretty clear path.
Yeah, having to cancel the Oklahoma game due to league mandate hurt strength of schedule. Was scheduled for years in advance, then poof!

I gotta say, it's the perfect schedule to break in a new qb, though

I was going to ask what Georgia's QB situation looked like. I don't really follow recruiting or off season news much.
They have a pretty good stable of unproven highly ranked guys, but none of them has seen extensive action. I fully suspect that Carson Beck will be the guy, but that is still not 100%. He has the most game experience and has been around the longest. Should do well with his arm, but not very mobile. No idea on decision making until they are in real game action

Thanks for the info. If he's not very mobile maybe our pass rushers can get to him some. I would imagine Georgia's OL will be top notch though.

I don't want to sound arrogant when I say this, but other than possibly ILB the OL is the position group that I worry about the least for UGA. They really started 7-8 guys last year, which kinda hurt them at times and they were criticized a few games for lack of continuity and push in pass rush, but… three guys left for the draft, 3 are lock solid returning starters, one tackle position will also likely be locked down, and the other open position will be taken by someone with talent and experience. Depth is also not a concern.

Can they all come together and play as one unit? Who knows. Anything can surprise you with 18-23yo kids.

I'd say to have a chance in this game, vols D has to find a way to hold dawgs O to 21 pts or less. Leaning heavily on the less. Y'all's defense will be stellar as usual
Wondering if our D can step up a bit this year. We got ol howitzer arm in the pocket but I don't anticipate him putting up the numbers we saw out of Hooker last year. Also, he doesn't have the same targets Hooker had. Last year we were able to overcome defensive shortcomings with a scoring machine. This year we need more output from the defensive side of the ball.

GA's run game will be deciding factor imo.

If they're running it down our throat, it will be a long day.

IF we could somehow get them in 3rd and long, we'll have a chance, because whoever is GA qb they won't have had to perform under pressure prior to that.

IF we're undefeated at that point, we would have a 2 game win streak over Bama and would most certainly be ranked #2, so it could be an epic 1 vs 2 match up, and it be in Knoxville.

Talk about jacked up stadium!

But, I haven't forgotten SC last year. We could very well have another one or more of those in us.

I'm just glad to be looking forward to an exciting season.

I'd love to take another shot at Rattler and see him go down. Going to require triple the effort we put in last year though. That was abysmal.
