Got on this bird on the roost and killed him at 11:15. He could have cared less about anything but feeding so I spent that whole time walking and crawling, trying to get ahead of him. When I finally got ahead of him he had joined up with 5 jakes, they walked within 50 yards and I shot as soon as he walked away from them. 17.9 pounds, 10.5" beard, 3/4" spurs.

IMO they are the most confounding creature God created, sometimes the first little yelp you make they will run in and practically run you over and the next they act as if they are totally deaf and don't even acknowledge your calling at all.
