I am a big fan of the Savage Axis models. I have had a few kids behind them in .243 and .223. They are great, little, inexpensive rifles. Can usually be bought for around $250. We have had no issues with ours.

I have a 20 gauge I would let go. Harrington and Richardson model 400 from the 60s.
