Seeing if anyone wants to trade a pack of Winchester w209 primers for a full pack of Winchester triple 7 primers. I'm wanting the regular blue pack.

Dumb question but what is the difference?
Between the primers? The primers that are designated for muzzle loaders have a lower brisance (output energy) than normal primers. Things like 777 and Pyrodex need less energy to ignite. The higher energy primers will supposedly push the powder load and adversely affect accuracy. Blackhorn 209 recommends the hotter Federal 209A primers. The Fed 209s with Blackhorn and a Harvester crush rib sabot are very accurate in my ML700primer_brisance.jpg

Blackhorn,… I've only heard about this folklore of a product. It's as rare as a dinosaur fossil.
I managed to score some this year by checking Brickseek and scooting to the store when it said they had it in stock. When I got there it wasn't even out on the shelves yet. They had to go to the stock room and pull it for me.

It always says unknown when I search.

I'm sure that means out of stock. If it is there they will give you a count of the number on hand. I think I bought mine at the end of August or very first of September this year. I waited too late last year and missed out. Cabelas still had some recently, but it was $65 a bottle compared to 52 at Wally world.
