What kind of duck

[RUGER]

Is black and white with a solid black head.
Looked alot like a meganser (sp?) but was not a hooded one.

They were diving and looked to be eating algae.

Tried to get a pic but it didn't work.

Bufflehead would have a big white patch on its head, most of the top back of its head would be white. He said it has a solid black head and then we never got an answer back from Ruger.

AH, missed that one. I got one mounted on the mantle.
