I believe this came from around the LBL area. I found it a few years ago and had it laid up. Just came across it last night and thought the TNdeer guys will know what it is. Probably some kind of natural formation, based on the crystalline looking structure. The tiny crystals are evident by the tiny shiny "sparks" in the pictures. Notice in the last picture it seems to have concentric rings around it and it looks like the hole is square cut. I'm pretty sure the thing on the right is manmade. What is it?

It is a section of a crinoid stem. These are fossils from the Missisippian Era and are quite common. They are often called 'Indian money'.

Have never seen nor ever heard of such a thing.
