Turkey Strategies and Times of day?

What are your strategies for different times of the day? This morning we went out and used and owl call in several different places to locate birds.

My problem right now is that I do not know where the birds are roosting...I knew where they were during deer season, but not anymore. Anyways, some people tell me that there is no point in hunting afternoons for turkeys, others say it's great. What strategies do you use for different times of day for finding birds?

Morning if I am on a new place I get somewhere I can hear good and let the birds gobble on their own. No locator calls for me.

Mid-Morning, if nothing is gobbling, I go back into areas where I heard birds early or where birds frequent and slip through making yelps and cutts on a friction call of some type.

Same as above for the afternoon, but sometimes I will go somewhere and just listen with no calling for an hour to see if one will fire off on his own.
