Took my 15yo down to the marsh today since I'm failing miserably at finding a south MS turkey... got there at 10a after the rain stopped... Heavy cloud cover, light wind... what the heck, let's to top water or bust all day.
Reds were just INHALING the skitterwalk, and even found a few trout deep in the marsh when they were supposed to be migrating out to stage for spawning. Biggest red was 28in.
Kept the smallest red and a couple trout for supper, let everything else go. A few marsh bass thrown in for good measure. My 15yo had a blast!
