Way off topic but a long time ago I walked up on a truck parked on our farm during gun season.... frustrated I wrote a note explaining they were on private posted property and left it on windshield....didn't see anyone around anywhere? Well later that evening I saw the same truck parked at local gas station that checked deer in (back when they checked deer in) .....So I pulled in and parked.... nobody around....looked in back of truck and there was an 8pt laying there....I just stood by truck and waited.....guy comes walking out of the store and his pants are torn.... shirt sleeve torn.... scratches all over his face...soaking wet.....he looked rough....like he'd been whooped pretty bad.....he then proceeded to tell me the story of how he'd shot the deer early that morning...buck dropped....he got down and walked up and the deer took off....he went home and got his dog and they started tracking....caught up with buck and shot him again....buck kept going....tried couple more shots at the buck running....ran outta shells....dog finally caught up with the buck ...deer was down but still alive.... grabbed buck pulled knife out to cut him and all heck broke loose....he said the thing come alive on him!!..... finally the deer died.....him and the dog walked nearly 2 miles back to his truck and drove down road to get as close as possible to the deer....which put him on us....after hearing his story and seeing the condition the poor guy was in I didn't even mention the note I left or who I was...dude was whooped....after seeing that....I ain't lassoing no deer :)
