Sometimes I'd rather be lucky than good. Today was one of those lucky mornings for me. Sat on a small ridge behind my house overlooking a funnel in the woods. Around 6:45 I had a small 8pt stroll by and decided to give him a pass. Somewhere around 7:20 a dog came running through the woods barking up a storm. I just watched him for a while then decided my hunt was probably over so I started making my way to the truck. As I was walking through the field I just happened to look up to see a big bodied heavy horn buck about ten yards inside the woods looking to where that dog was running and barking near the ridge I'd just left. 110-115 yard shot and that was all she wrote. Think I may go buy that stray dog a Christmas gift! Lol Very pleased with this "backyard buck". Haven't had a chance to put a tape on him yet but any guesses on score? FullSizeRender.jpg
