[QUOTE="Safari Hunt, post: 5195650, member: 21298"] Being a Baby Boomer, born and raised in Ohio, I can answer the question of Sunday hunting. Beforeq and after WWII, there were Blue Laws which reflected the conservative atmosphere of the times. Businesses closed at 6 PM on Saturday and businesses were closed Sunday. Gas stations rotated being open on Sunday for those who traveled on that day. As time went on and attitudes changed, Blue Laws were eliminated. Sunday hunting falls, in some way, the same pattern. I hunted a private farm many years ago. I found a note on my car. The owner's son said that they didn't allow Sunday hunting. I happened to meet him on my way to the car. I thanked him as I neglected to ask his father about hunting on Sunday. I respect their decision. Same idea with liquor sales here in Bradley County. As we got more people from outside the Bible Belt, there was a gradual movement from two beer retailers to malt based beverages to liquor by the drink to retail sales of all alcoholic beverages in grocery stores. Retail liquor stores, selling only hard stuff, popped up like mushrooms after a rain. They know there is a good profit margin in liquor sales. Tobacco shops advertise "Coldest Beer In Town." All of them???? Edit- Many places didn't work past midnight Saturday. Sunday was a day to relax. I was a pastor in central KY and one of the biggest dairy areas in the state. Many of my church members voluntarily took off Sunday. Dairy farmers were the biggest exception. BTW, know of any car dealers open on Sunday? None around here. Good hunting! I'm going Tuesday.
