[QUOTE="Gravey, post: 5330202, member: 2648"] Even though I didn’t kill a bird. Three buddies and I went down Friday afternoon and rode around just hanging out. Grilled burgers that night and had cold beverages around the campfire. Saturday morning we all took out and I heard 3 birds where I was and 2 others off in the distance. After playing cat and mouse I finally had them coming up the field edge. There were 5 gobblers and 8 hens. I was toting my new 20 gauge and dialed it in at 20 yards but ran out of time to shoot it at 40. I had ranged some trees and knew where 40 was. They got to around 45 but not having shot it at that distance didn’t send tss their way. Even so it was a great morning watching all of them strut and gobble. Couple guys did kill 2 jakes and 1 longbeard. It’s not always about the kill but the memories made with your buddies.
