Hey Taylor, hated to hear about Spence's death.

Like you said in the Sun, I grew up looking forward to his articles every week too and it didn't help that I lived 2 doors down from Cotton Couch and old Sambo.

I started rereading ACROSS THE RIVER last night. My favorite is still the 8 Circle Tree story up on A.T.

FYI, Spence's funeral was really nice.
I only got to go to the memorial service (I was on deadline) and did not get to go to visitation, afterward, but his friends, Harbert Alexander, Dr. Appleton, John Moss and Rev. Joe Thornton told some wonderful stories that spoke well of a great man.
And the Rev. read some emails childhood buddies had sent that were very touching as well.
If only we could all get such a send-off, if only we all deserved it. lol.
