One day last week, Thursday maybe, the anchor and I went to walmart and on the way home I saw a deer on the edge of a bean field by the fencerow, about 50 or 60 yards from the road. I slowed down to a crawl and asked her if she saw the deer and she confirmed she did. Then the doe got that "Weakley County turn"* and eased into the woods. Then I saw the fawn. It was standing upright, under her belly ! I told the anchor to look how little it was. Then it started off to the woods and she said, OH something is wrong with it, it can't walk good. I told her no, there is nothing wrong it is just that young ! I can't really confirm this part but the deer looked really dark and after we drove off I wondered if it was actually still wet from being born. Little bitty sucker for sure. Pretty cool. *Weakley County Turn - When a vehicle slows on a gravel or paved road and the deer get real nervous because they figure they fixin to start duckin lead. :D
