[QUOTE="rem.30-06, post: 2962546, member: 5574"] Ok here is the story. I woke up late and had to rush to get to my stand. I try to be there no later than 5.30 that way it gives everything plenty of time to settle down. At about 7 I seen the first deer of the morning it looked like a small spike. It came around the ridge and quickly turned back and left the way he came. At around 8 I became fasinated with a squirrel that was running around the tree tops. I caught a glimps of something out of place behind me,It was a doe. I thought to my self im not going to shoot her so ill wait and see what happens. Then I thought that I better grab my bow just in case. Well out pops two more does behind her. I get to watching the does and I can see them looking back so I know there are probably more deer comming. I turn and look in front of me and a nice 8 pt is at my salt lick. I couldnt get a shot on him due to lazyness and not trimming back some limbs. I keep scanning the area and I spot my buck walking up the same trail I took in to the stand. I have one shooting lane and I know I need to get to full draw before he gets in my only window. Finally he steps into my shooting lane I stopped him and let it fly. I heard the favorite sound of any bowhunter the loud smack of and arrow hititng home. As hes running off I can tell I didnt make a very good shot on him as I see my fletchings sticking out Middle ways down his body.
