I guess I don’t understand how Ohio State got pandered to by their conference when the conference cancelled the season and then restarted more than a month late and with no bye weeks to make up games that were cancelled. Ohio State would have played a sixth game on 12/19 whether it was the Big Ten CG or vs Iowa. Ohio State had to cancel the Illinois game due to its own Covid outbreak. Maryland and Michigan cancelled their games vs OSU due to their Covid outbreaks. Winning a CCG has no bearing on the CFP (see OSU 2016, Alabama 2017, ND 2018, ND 2020). Is changing the mandatory sit out rule from 21 to 17 days pandering to Ohio State when Bama, Clemson, and ND are/were subject to 10 day sit periods? Otherwise, I agree that the committee needs to go and have said we should go back to the BCS formula. Even though I think in most years there are only three teams who can actually compete for the title, for the good of the game it needs to expand. Georgia should be one of those three teams every year with all that talent right there in your back yard. Your problem is your coach thinks having a half dozen 4/5 star RBs on the roster is the same as having more than a half dozen 4/5 star QBs and WRs. Saban, Day, and Swinney know it’s not. A four team CFP hasn’t caused those coaches to realize that fact, but getting to the CFP has helped those teams/staffs get QBs, WRs, and other talent.
