I'm picking one up later this evening. I've never owned a security six. Anything I should watch out for? BTW....it's 357 mag.

Nothing wrong with those. A lot of cops carried those back when cops were carrying revolvers.

ive had the exact same gun for years and its my most accurate revolver. Holds up to stout loads too. Gotta love the versatility of the 357 too. when shooting heavy loads I swap the boot grips out for molded rubber.

My friends brother in law had one back in the late 70's early 80's and we ran some really stout loads through it. Well built revolver.

Hard to go wrong with them. Most everyone on the revolver pages I'm on seem to really like them and speak highly of them. Congrats on the purchase!
The only bad thing I can say about it, is it's not a S&W j/k nice looking gun. Congrats

Great revolver.
Security Sixes , Speed Sixes, I like em all. Ruger definitely builds them to last.
It's about as bulletproof as a firearm can get. We sold a ton of them.

mine is a 6" barreled SS Security Six in .357 that i gave my Dad for Christmas in 1981, i think. bought it with my first GI bill check. accurate as any pistol i've ever shot.
