My oldest daughter finished up her season yesterday with a bang! We only had 4 hunting trips together, and she took 6 deer. She killed an 8 point and 3 does one morning a few weeks ago. We had been getting pics of a 10 point the last few years, that she really wanted. Since she had limited out that morning with the four deer, I went out that evening myself to a new spot on the farm (she was tired and sleeping). Wouldn’t you know it, the 10 point came out at less than 150 yards. I couldn’t bring myself to shoot it in hopes that she could get a chance at him before season ended. We went back to the farm for one last hunt Tuesday and Wednesday. The wind was wrong to hunt him Tuesday and Wednesday morning, but it was perfect Wednesday evening. Since I didn’t have a stand at this spot, we set up a blind midday for the last hunt of the season. At close to last light, she picked out a pretty good 3.5 year old 9-point entering the field. The 10 point was about a minute behind the 9. Before it was over, we had 7 bucks in front of us. The 10 gave her about a 70 yard broadside shot. It had just started to rain, so I told her to aim at high shoulder, and she dropped him. She was ecstatic, and so was I. Here’s her first five: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
