Heard this bird yesterday evening while I was out in the yard and knew he would be there this morning since it was late. Knowing that it was gonna be cold and they probably wouldn't gobble much I decided to go where I knew one was. Climbed the hill before it got light and set up on the upper side of the power line. Started to get light and he let out a gobble 60 yards away. He was the only bird I heard and I bet he gobbled 500 times. From the top I can hear for miles and nothing but this bird made a sound. I couldn't see him because a cedar tree was between me and him. When he pitched out he landed about 40 yards away but still had some of the cedar blocking my view. I made a couple of very soft yelps and here he come putting on a heck of a show and how cool is it when they gobble in your face at 15 yards! I let him clear some other small limbs and let him have it, done by 6:15. Awesome morning! 22lbs. 10" beard 1.25" spurs
