I kayak fish but not competitively. I have a Jackson Coosa HD in Red,White, and Blue. It has actually not been in the water. I had another boat and it started leaking so Jackson replaced it with a brand new one.

They are fun but aggrevating at the same time. I fish mostly skinny water so I have no need for electronics. The way I see it, it would just be more weight for me to carry around. There are some nice rigs out there though.

Wife and I Fly Fish out of ours, like to take them to Florida and South Carolina a few times a year to chase reds and such. Ours are sit on top style and are very stable, just remember there is always a trade off. Stable equals wide and slow, fast equals narrow and not so stable. You can reach some fantastic shallow water spots with them, my favorite is floating strems and smaller rivers where a boat just wouldn't work. Would love to put electric motors on ours but that gets pricey for 2 rigs.

I have the same set up with the Nucanoe frontier 12' with the Honda 2.3 outboard. I use it for everything from drifting tailwaters to duck hunting in AR. With just me and the dog, it's a solid rig. I have taken my adult son with me a couple of times (we both weigh about 190) and it gets sketchy with the 2 of us plus a 90lbs Chessie. It's rated for 600lbs and I would say it will do all of that. The motor does pretty well but wondering if a 3hp would have been a little better.
