Info on the 17hmr?

Fun to shoot. I have killed 2 crows at 144 yards. I have shot 3 yotes with it. One in the head, it dropped dead. Shot one in the neck and one behind the shoulder. Both of em at less than 50 yards, both ran off. I will not shoot another yote with it. Its not enough gun for it.

i have killed many with the 17hmr [yotes] it will do it if you pick your shots out to 100 yrds[even though some called me a liar and said it wouldnt do it]neck and head shots you have to drag the stinky things off cause they fall right there,they will go a little ways with heart lung shots,better choices out there yes, will a 17 do it yes[with limited shots]

Totally agree ! I have killed yotes with about all variety of guns pistol,shotgun,25-06,270,223,22mag,and the 17cal and want to guess which one has yet to have one run off after being shot? Yes the 17cal. It is a deadly head shot gun and I have no problem shooting a yote with it out to 150 yards. If your concerned about ethics in killing a coyote then hunt something else. Only good yote is a dead yote regardless of how he gets to that point! :grin:

Well after somewhat disrespect'n the little .17 I got one for Christmas, think'n about trade'n it back in for a .204 but on the other hand thers a lotta cats in the nieghborhood that are just stink'n my place up,hhhhmmmm.

try the .17 fireball its a centerfire round shooting 4000fps
