Just ordered a Weatherby Back Country rifle in 300 Weatherby. Would like to buy a 8 pound jug of this powder to try. Does anyone know of a shop within a hour or so of Cookeville or Crossville that has it in stock?

For several years I loaded a Mark V 300 Weatherby Mag for a close friend. A truly magnificent rifle in fit and finish and it was accurate beyond compare.

I used IMR7828 (no SSC back then) and wished for a long drop tube to ease the bridging but neveryoumind, it went bang every last time and 180 partitions were all we needed. I found max loads were best.

Note: setting your dies is tricky. When you think you have it right, load a 180 (or your choice) to the desired depth, and smoke the round before carefully chambering. Most Weatherby's have a long throat and you really want to minimize jump since the powder charge is going to be significant.

I have some 215m's if you are in need. And I will loan you the fancy bullet seating die. Makes an otherwise difficult task easy-peasy.
